Be part of a thriving community of doctoral students producing world-class research in the arts and humanities
The AHRC-funded Midlands4Cities Doctoral Training Partnership (M4C) brings together eight leading universities across the Midlands to support the professional and personal development of the next generation of arts and humanities doctoral researchers.
We provide:
As an M4C student, you will have access to studentship funding, expert supervision, placements with an exciting range of regional, national and international partners and an extensive range of training opportunities.
We offer two routes for PhD study: Open Doctoral Awards where you design and agree a research project with academic supervisors and Collaborative Doctoral Awards which are jointly developed and co-supervised between an M4C university and an external partner organisation.
Our student community is distinguished by breadth and diversity in the people and projects that make up M4C. Connecting across the Midlands, our students are part of a dynamic network of researchers, with opportunities to collaborate on research and training.
We work closely with an exciting range of regional, national and international partners to develop placements, specialist training and collaborative projects.
